Hong Kong for Families – your 4 day itinerary

Any trip with kids has that added challenge of making sure the adults and the kids have a great time in equal measure. A good start is including them in the planning process, although we recommend keeping a few surprises up your sleeve too. Here is our guide to a four day family holiday in Hong Kong.

    Day 1:

    • Victoria Peak, Hong Kong Island
Peak Tram has been substantially upgraded and is a great way to reach the best viewpoint of the city. It offers panoramic views of the city with an even better view from the Sky Terrace.
    • Monopoly Dreams
Located at The Peak, this brand-new attraction is a fun and interactive experience that combines the classic board game with state-of-the-art technology.
    • Yum Cha, Central
Have a fun and creative dim sum experience at this modern Chinese restaurant. It’ll be a battle for the most Instagrammable picture. From barbecued pork buns shaped like cartoon pig’s heads to molten custard buns that look like emoji faces, the novelty certainly doesn’t replace quality and taste.
    • Tai Kwun, Central
This cultural and heritage centre enjoys a mix of modern and colonial architecture. There are also plenty of interactive exhibits for kids to enjoy.
    • Star Ferry, Tsim Sha Tsui
Take a ferry ride across Victoria Harbour for the stunning views of the city skyline.

    Day 2:

    • Lamma Island
Take the ferry to Yung Shue Wan on Lamma Island and stroll along the main street, where you can find a variety of shops and restaurants.
    • Tin Hau Temple, Lamma Island
Visit one of the oldest and most famous temples on Lamma Island, dedicated to the goddess of the sea.
    • Hung Shing Yeh Beach, Lamma Island
This relatively quiet and peaceful beach is great for families who want to relax and unwind away from excitement of the busy city.
    • Herboland, Lamma Island
If you’re visiting over a weekend, stop in to this organic farm which offers a variety of activities such as farm tours, hands-on workshops on sustainable agriculture, and healthy cooking classes. Open Saturday – Sunday 11am – 5pm.

    Day 3:

    • Ocean Park Hong Kong
Ocean Park Hong Kong offers a fun-filled day out for families with its diverse marine life exhibits, thrilling amusement rides, and entertaining shows.
    • Tsim Sha Tsui
There are plenty of kid-friendly restaurants on option in Tsim Sha Tsui. After dinner, stroll along the Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and enjoy the scenic view of Victoria Harbour.

    Day 4:

    • Hong Kong Disneyland
Depending on your kids’ ability to practise patience or yours to keep a secret, you may decide to swap this day to earlier in your itinerary… for your own sanity! Spend a magical day at The Happiest Place on Earth, where you can meet your favourite Disney characters, enjoy thrilling rides, and watch spectacular shows.
