I am sure I won’t be the only one who has suffered from procrastipacking. Am I right?
Packing can be stressful when you have limited space and time and can out way the excitement of the actual adventure.
I have devised some tips to help make the job a little easier.
Packing list (check at start and end)
Start and end with a packing list! Knowing how many outfits you need for each day and the weather you are likely to experience whilst travelling, it will be hard to forget items if you have them written down before you pack.
Airline / travel baggage fee
Airlines tend to have varying baggage fees. If you are unsure of your baggage allowance, or think you might be a little overweight please check with me. You don’t want to be surprised at the check in counter!
When you pack your suitcase or bag try rolling your clothes instead of folding. The exception to this are your collard shirts or sparkly dresses! Rolling clothes actually increase the spare space you will have in your bag, allowing you to add shoes and toiletries without having to sit on the suitcase to close it! To save space you can also use packing cubes and compression bags.
Liquids in a bag
Have you ever opened your luggage bag and found the shampoo or toothpaste has leaked out of the toiletries bag and into your clothes? Try using a simple snap lock bag to place these into before adding them to your toiletries bag.
Medication in purse / carry on
This is an important one if you or a family member need medication whilst travelling. Always pack it in your carry on luggage or handbag. If for some reason your main luggage goes missing or you need an emergency dose – you will have the medication on hand. Don’t forget liquid & gel restrictions may apply.
