Top  Adventures for Kids in Cairns!

A recent holiday to Cairns with the family, led to some new discoveries.. Checkout our Favourite activities!

1.  Cairns Zoom and Wildlife Dome.  This was so good, we had go back for seconds. Located on top of The Pullman Reef Hotel and Casino, we spent a fun few hours testing ourselves on the rope courses. Challenging, but safe, as you walk across planks, swinging tyres and beer kegs,  scale rope walls, and even take a flying fox over a crocodile!  Yes, its true! With up to 6 different activities on offer such as Mid Zoom, Hi Zoom, Dome Climb, Commando Climb to name a few, you can easily spend the best part of the day. Definitely fun for the entire family!
2. Cairns Aquarium. – You will only need about 1- 2 hours to walk thru this aquarium as it is small, but still lots to see and learn. Kids can touch sea cucumbers, starfish and shark eggs, whilst learning about the colours of the reef and what makes sea creatures amongst the most dangerous in the world.
3. Hartleys Crocodile Adventure. It would not be a visit to Cairns without the kids experiencing this wildlife park. Hartleys is all about education and better understanding of the  local wildlife. First up, enjoy a cruise on their man-made river system and learn about the behaviour of their local crocodiles, all named!  Hand feed the Cassowaries, and learn about why they are special for the Daintree, and what makes them so dangerous. Take in a spot of Crocodile feeding under the guidance of the keepers. (This is a special feature limited in number, so arrive early to secure your spot) .There are options to hold a Koala, cuddle a snake, and much more.
4. Jungle Surf the Rainforest Canopy at Cape Tribulation. Soar thru the Rainforest canopy slow, fast or upside down- The Choice is yours!  Experience 7  flying fox ziplines, and enjoy the  bird’s eye views over the treetops, out to the Great Barrier Reef. This tour can take kids 3 years and upwards as long as  a parent is brave enough to go with them!
