My Expert’s column this month talks about slowing down our travels to pause, and contemplate this beautiful and wonderous world around us.

Beauty whilst travelling is elusive as it is Present. I find we only truly appreciate the beauty of something or someone when we pause, contemplate, and take it in.

When it comes to travel, if you pause and observe, beauty is truly everywhere.

It’s in the places you visit with a sense of wanderlust.

In the innocent eyes of a child or the roadmap wrinkles of an elder.

It’s in the creative story of painting, sculpture, or music.

In the architecture of jaw-dropping marvels.

It’s in the style and fashion we wear, that exquisite pair of Chanel pumps or D&G handbag.

Or a piece of treasured handmade jewelry bought somewhere on your travels.

My favorite expression of beauty is in a thoughtfully prepared feast, presented to be enjoyed with family and friends.

All this and more are enjoyed when travelling.   Travel leaves you richer for this and so many more reasons.

I recently had a client return from Italy and she had that holiday glow.  She literally said it changed her, allowed her to take time by herself and re-find her essence.

It gave her perspective and time to stop and appreciate travel.

From the magnificence of an antique room with a view of Lake Maggiore to a glass of fine Brunello wine accompanying a plate of handmade pesto pasta.

Not to mention a swoon-worthy conversation with a stranger and so much more, what’s not to love?
