My first taste of travelling was to Bali. At 13 I had saved every hard-earned dollar to get there with my sister. To this day, one of my most life changing memories, was stepping off that plane to an immediate immersion of all the senses. That overwhelming heat, the smell of incense, the sounds of a foreign language. I swear the air even tasted different. It left a mark on me and I took it as the world’s invitation to travel as much as possible.
From then on, I was obsessed. I was lucky enough to travel a little with my family as a teenager but took my first independent holiday to the UK & Europe when I was 18. As soon as I came back, I started work at a local travel agency.
I studied Tourism, spent the following 12 years consulting, and eventually managed a local travel agency, learning all aspects of retail travel from the best. In that time, I have managed to visit 40 countries by cruise, rail, motorhome, group touring, safaris, you name it.
