Day 4

Travel to Kandy : Kandy is a major city in Sri Lanka, located in the Central Province, of Sri Lanka. It is the second largest
city in the country after Colombo. It was the last capital of the ancient kings’ era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of
hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is both an administrative and
religious city and is also the capital of the Central Province. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri
Dalada Maligawa), one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site
by UNESCO in 1988. But Kandy is also so much more than its number one attraction; it’s a city of delightful chaos, with
its bustling streets, ancient temples, colonial architecture, aristocratic gardens and the glorious Kandy lake forming the
backdrop to a perfect few days amongst Sri Lanka’s lush green hills.
Transport:
By Road (Approx. 2 hour(s) 30 minute(s) Drive)
Assistance on Arrival (Evening cultural dance show) : Assistance on Arrival and check in to the hotel. In the evening

and acts. Believed to be originally performed by Indian shamans who came to the island many centuries ago, Kandyan
dancing is a celebration of the rich traditions of Sri Lankan culture. The dance which traces its origin from the ancient
ritual known as the Kohomba Kapkariya focuses on dynamism, powerful footwork, leaps, and whirls that imitate several
movements from birds and animals. The whole performance is graced by colorful costumes, masked dances, and thrilling
fire acts! To make the show more exciting, some men perform a series of acrobats and stunts such as plate-spinning.

Day 5

Travel to Nuwara Eliya (Train ride) : Travel to Kandy railway station to board the train to Nuwara Eliya. Said to be one
of the most scenic train rides in the world, the Kandy to Nuwara Eliya rail route runs on the original tracks built by the
British in 1864. Originally designed to transport tea and coffee from hillside estates, it’s now an important means of
connecting major cities and a tourist attraction in its own right. The first quarter of the four-hour journey is, honestly, a little
underwhelming. With expectations of stunning views of rolling hills, it’s easy to forget one needs to first get out of Kandy.
Passing the outskirts of the city in itself is quite interesting. Family houses back right onto the tracks and give you a
glimpse into local life. As the train starts to ascend so does the outlook. Arrive Nuwara Eliya, your chauffeur will be
waiting for you at the railway station.
Transport:
By Road & Train
Arrive Nuwara Eliya (Tea Tour) : On arrival, we enjoy a tour around the famous tea gardens of Nuwara Eliya, a land of
tea estates and waterfalls! If you arrive in the morning you may witness the tea pickers at work, carefully picking the “two
leaves and bud” that go into making the Pure Ceylon Tea. Later take a guided tour of the tea factory and learn about the
next stage in the production of tea making. The full process involves Tea Plucking, Withering, Rolling, Fermentation,
Firing and Sorting/Grading before it is bulk packed to be sent to the tea auctions in Colombo. After the tour, enjoy a cup of
tea that is made here, sitting on the café balcony that overlooks the stunning tea plantations.

home to a high concentration of leopards. Yala also shelters an abundance of the Asian elephant, wild buffalo, sloth bear,

popular wildlife sanctuary Yala National Park. It is a huge area of forest, grassland and lagoons bordering the Indian
Ocean, in southeast Sri Lanka. Hop into one of the Jeeps commanded by a knowledgeable ranger, for a guided tour
tracking the impressive number of elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes and hopefully, a leopard along the way. Despite the
elusive nature of the leopard species, Yala boasts one of the densest leopard populations on the globe, increasing the
likelihood of an encounter. Yala National Park plays a very significant role in the conservation of a large number of flora
and fauna species in Sri Lanka, many of which are endemic to the island. Later travel to Bentota, nestled along secluded
shores which is 65kms from the south of Colombo. Rich culture, exotic adventures, thrilling water sports and palm-fringed
