A passion for travel is built over many years, and it will never ever end as long as we live and breathe. Anon.
My passion to travel started with my Dad’s desire to show us our country, with our holidays spent exploring this great continent we call home. With every new adventure, I developed a hunger for history and culture.
An eye-opening first overseas trip to China in the early 80’s, I then set off to Europe at my first opportunity. This led to many great travel adventures – dinner with a Masai leader in Africa, trekking the Inca Trail to Macchu Picchu, and missing my station in Italy, with the next another 8 hours away, I don’t think I will ever be tired of the amazing life experiences travel has to offer.
After several travel adventures, I decided that the best job in the world would be to create amazing itineraries for people who wanted to see the world. And so began my 20+ year career as a Travel Manager. My obvious enthusiasm for the job showed, as I was awarded “Consultant of the Year” for several consecutive years, and had the opportunity to work for some of the largest and most highly regarded travel groups both in Australia and the UK.
An opportunity to be a part of a development team to introduce a new retail and corporate travel brand to the UK market, saw me jet off to the UK once again. Based in London for 10 years, I had some great new and exciting opportunities and destinations to travel. After a successful career in training, mentoring and operational management roles, I have now returned to Australia and the role I love the most – Personal Travel Manager.
Joining TravelManagers has offered me a new sense of freedom and energy, to continue to be creative in my dealings with my clients. As a Personal Travel Manager, I understand that every client is different, with all kinds of needs and expectations. I believe that whether your travel be for leisure or business, every client deserves to receive the most competitive detailed and researched travel plans, delivered with exceptional customer service and advice.
I look forward to planning your next travel experience with you soon.
My clients often ask me about my favourite destination or style of travel. After many years I have been privileged to have experienced some amazing places and most of my trips these days tend to involve a little more luxury than my adventure travel days. Not that I’m fused about a world-class spa (although they can be nice), as long as I get to relax on the beach or by a nice pool with a good book and a cocktail in hand, before I head out in the evening for some great local cuisine, I’m a happy man!
