Having worked in the travel industry for almost 20 years it’s hard to think I’ll ever be able to give it up. I have tried a couple of times and it didn’t work. Here’s my story.
My travel career has included working in wholesale with Qantas Holidays, retail as a freelance Travel Consultant and airports for both Qantas Airways, Air New Zealand & Jetstar. Due to changes in my family life, I gave up my place in the travel industry. This lasted for about 18 months before I was drawn back to what I know and enjoy best – travel! I joined TravelManagers Australia and haven’t looked back.

Having a career in travel is great. It’s given me the opportunity to travel to so many places, meet different people, learn about different cultures, history and lifestyles. The time spent away with my family and the memories created and shared are priceless. And, it doesn’t stop there. Being able to plan my clients dream holiday is the next best thing to going myself. I feel their excitement and anticipation and then I get to listen to their experiences when they return.
The satisfaction I receive from a holiday that’s been well planned and enjoyed is a very rewarding feeling.
I am available 24/7 to my clients, which takes the stress out of having to go into a travel agency during work hours.
It also gives my clients peace of mind while they are overseas knowing I’m only a phone call or email away.
